List of some trending terms, primarily from the realms of modern dating and social interaction, along with their meanings:


  1. Textlationship: A relationship that exists primarily through text messages or digital communication, without much face-to-face interaction.

  2. Stashing: When someone you're dating keeps you hidden from their friends and family, and doesn't post about you on social media.

  3. Situationship: A relationship that's more than a friendship but not quite a committed romantic relationship; it's in a vague, undefined space.

  4. Phubbing: Snubbing someone in favor of your mobile phone. This often happens in social settings when someone constantly checks their phone instead of engaging with the people around them.

  5. Orbiting: When someone who has stopped communicating with you directly continues to interact with you or follow you on social media, keeping you in their 'orbit'.

  6. Haunting: Similar to orbiting, haunting refers to when someone who ghosted you (suddenly stopped all communication) still engages with you indirectly, like by watching your Instagram stories or liking your posts.

  7. Beige Flag: Unlike a red flag which is a clear warning sign, a beige flag is something about a person that's a little dull or underwhelming, but not necessarily a deal-breaker.

  8. Benching: Keeping someone on the back burner or "on the bench" in dating terms. You don't commit to the relationship fully, but you keep them interested just enough so they don't move on.

  9. Breadcrumbing: Sending sporadic but flirtatious messages to keep someone interested without committing to anything serious or putting in much effort.

  10. Cuffing: Refers to the trend where people seek out short-term partnerships during colder months of the year, only to end them when the warmer seasons start.

  11. Ghosting: The act of suddenly cutting off all communication with someone without explanation.

  12. Zombie-ing: When someone who has ghosted you suddenly reappears in your life, much like a "zombie" coming back from the dead.

  13. Dulluu Sulluu: This term doesn't have a widely recognized meaning in mainstream English. It could be a playful, made-up expression or specific to a certain subculture or regional slang.

  14. Finsta: A combination of "fake" and "Instagram." It refers to a secondary, more private Instagram account where users share content with a smaller, more intimate group of friends.

  16. No Cap: Essentially means "no lie" or "for real." It's often used to emphasize that someone is telling the truth or being authentic.

  17. Yeet: A versatile word that can be used as an exclamation of excitement, approval, surprise, or to denote throwing something with force.

  18. Salty: Being upset, bitter, or angry, especially over something minor.

  19. Ghost Kitchen: A restaurant that operates solely through delivery services, without a physical location for dining in.

  20. Flex: To show off or brag, especially about material possessions or personal achievements.

  21. Snacc: A playful way of referring to someone very attractive or good-looking, suggesting they are as appealing as a snack.

  22. Stan: A combination of 'stalker' and 'fan.' It's used to describe someone who is very enthusiastic and devoted to a celebrity or a particular thing.

  23. Lowkey: Keeping something discreet, downplayed, or under the radar.

  24. Thirsty: Desperate for attention, especially in a romantic or sexual context.

  25. Extra: Being overly dramatic, excessive, or over the top in behavior or style.
